Cannabinoids interact with the body and the brain through the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). CBD doesn’t interact directly with cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2), but instead, it stimulates the endocannabinoid system to produce its own cannabinoids. CBD is an example of a phytocannabinoid. Although our bodies can naturally produce their own endocannabinoids that bind to cannabinoid receptors in both the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system, phytocannabinoids are known to help to boost the function of our central regulatory system. The system regulates compounds in our bodies the same way that it regulates cannabinoids from cannabis, involving a number of physiological processes such as mood, pain, memory, and appetite.
While we are not able to make medical claims in regards to CBD products, we strongly recommend doing further research into the benefits of this amazing cannabinoid.
